Pain Management
Mr. L.D. Buck Hartford received his initial medical training through the United States Navy as a Navy Corpsman serving with both Marine Corps and Naval units. Following discharge, he continued with his education at the University of Washington School of Medicine MEDEX Physician Assistant training program in Seattle, Washington. Since 1999, he has practiced exclusively in pain management in the Puget Sound region treating acute and chronic malignant and nonmalignant pain in both hospital and outpatient settings. He is pleased to have joined EMA in the Fall of 2016.
Mr. Hartford has worked and trained with national opinion leaders, experts, and pioneers in pain management. He has helped to develop and establish best practice models pain management organizations as well as through local and national educational events. He has participated as an investigator in studies involving opioids and their effects on sleep architecture. He has extensive experience managing patients with advanced therapies for pain to including spinal cord stimulation (neuromodulation) and intrathecal drug delivery and is a Medtronic faculty member providing training for PA’s and NP’s in this regard.
Mr. Hartford is married to his beautiful wife of more than 25 years. They are the proud parents of two outstanding sons. He spends his free time in support of his children’s sporting endeavors as both a coach and a fan. He and his family also spend their time together enjoying music, laughter, good food, the outdoors, and travel.
