Electrodiagnosis does have providers who are certified in the use of Subutex and Suboxone to treat opioid dependence in an office-based setting, although only for those who fulfill all criteria for participation in this specialized treatment program will be considered. The criteria for qualifying as a Suboxone/Sebutex patient are discussed in detail at the initial consultation by the physician(s) in our practice who are able to prescribe and administer this treatment. All patients who are referred as potential candidate for this treatment should be accompanied by a family member(s) or significant other(s) who are deeply involved as a primary support at the time of consultation.
All patients who go beyond opioid tolerance and dependence, and who struggle with opioid and/or multi-drug and/or alcohol addiction, need to be evaluated and treated by a formal chemical dependency program which is not a service that we provide in our practice.
